The Blue Ridge Parkway: A Long and Winding Road

If you thought the Blue Ridge Parkway was just a scenic road placed gently along the mountain ridges, then you are in for a surprise.  The first ever historical documentary about the Parkway, produced by documentary filmmaker Bruce Bowers, sheds new light on the many conflicts - and a stunning secret deal - that are a part of Parkway history. "The Blue Ridge Parkway: A Long and Winding Road" is full of surprises and is definitely no travelogue.

I just found out about this program, and I was wondering if it will be shown again. We only have a converter box and antenna. Thanks!

Awesome show! I have cycled all of the Blue Ridge Parkway except for the the first 45 miles, and I really learned much here about its origin and development. Had no idea of the link between Robert Doughton and FDR as it pertained to North Carolina gaining the southern route of the Parkway. Well done -- all of the people interviewed were authentic and clearly had a story to tell.
