Southern Lens Special: Best of Indie Grits 2008
Best of Indie Grits 2008 showcases two films from the 2008 Indie Grits Film Festival at the Nickelodeon Theater in Columbia, SC. Featured are the Big Grit winner To My Great Chagrin: The Unbelievable Story of Brother Theodore by Jeff Sumerel and Jeter Rhodes. Sumerel, a Greenville, SC native, along with collaborator Jeter Rhodes from Columbia have completed a three year journey to create a most compelling and exhilarating account of the remarkable history and career of a man known as “Brother Theodore” (Theodore Gottlieb). This feature length documentary is followed by the ETV Southern Lens Award Winner Unfettering the Falcons by Laura Kissel and Niklas Vollmer. An interview with Andy Smith, Executive Director of Indie Grits Film Festival is shown throughout the program.
