Last Week's Answer: Along with South Carolina, the other states that do not have a minimum wage law are Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee.

Ernest "Fritz" Hollings served as governor of SC from 1959-1963. He was elected to the US Senate in 1966.  He was the last "former governor" to be elected to Congress prior to Mark Sanford recent US House victory.

Donald Russell served as governor from 1963 to 1965 when he resigned to fill the vacancy of the Senate seat of Olin Johnston due to his death. Although he was governor after Hollings, Russell was not elected to the Senate, he appointed himself.
