Physician Assistant Opportunities Growing in SC

During a recent interview on this show with a nurse practitioner, the comment was made that physician assistants work under the supervision of a doctor.  However, we were since informed that, while PAs have been trained, since the inception of the profession over 40 years ago, to serve patients as part of a medical team that includes doctors, nurses, medical assistants and office staff, they often practice autonomously.
