Goodwill Rehabs Disabled Workers

Thursday - December 19, 2013 at 7:52 am

You may have heard our interview recently with Parnell Diggs, president of the National Federation of the Blind in SC regarding special minimum wage exemptions for workers with disabilities. Mr. Parnell is pushing for Congress to stop allowing employers to receive permission to pay some disabled workers less than minimum wage, a wage that he says is sometimes only pennies per hour.  Our next guest says his organization does utilize this minimum wage exemption to employ disabled workers who otherwise would not be able to find a job.

Mike Switzer interviews Robert Smith, president and CEO of Goodwill of Lower SC.
