Eco Adventure with Philippe Cousteau
Join Riverbanks Roundup and Conservationist Philippe Cousteau as we journey through Riverbanks Zoo searching for ways to support a healthy Earth and all its creatures. Explore the aquarium, feed African Tortoises, and help clean up the Saluda River. Cousteau shares his passion for conservation and passes on the power to make a positive difference to Zoo Teens and South Carolina kids.
Fact or Fiction
Dive right in to investigating animal fact versus animal fiction! Since animals accomplish amazing maneuvers to survive, how do we tell fact from fiction? Investigate with zoo animal keepers as we swim with piranhas and talk to tortoises to sniff out the truth!
Feathers and Fur
Meet the hyena cousins as they crunch on bones, play with baby flamingos and dig beneath the ground with naked mole rats. The best and most exciting mammal and bird moments are captured in this episode as we explore behind the scenes to visit our furry and feathered friends!

History of Riverbanks
Take a walk back in time with Zoo Director Satch Krantz as we explore the history of our outstanding zoo and garden, looking at historical footage as we hear from staff that helped grow the zoo. Did you know there is actually one flamingo that is the only original animal still with us from when the zoo opened its gates over 35 years ago!
South Carolina–Wild Animals Are All Around You
We’ll explore the zoo to find the animals that live right here in our state. Experts at the zoo will join host Katie Mixon as we venture on a nature walk, visit the aquarium and meet a herpetologist!
Telling Tails
How do animals use their tails? Sometimes they use them for protection or defense. They use them to facilitate movement and balance, too. Join us to meet interesting animals such as a Yellow-fin Snapper, a Lemur and a Tamarin to see what we can tell about them from their tails!
Unappreciated Animals
What is the role of a specific animal in our ecosystem? When you look, you’ll find that each animal has a job, making it an important part of the overall “puzzle” of nature! Join us as we take a look at hyenas, starfish and giraffes to see how they each play an important role.

Things that make your go ewwwww…
Zoo animals do some seemingly icky things to survive and we’ll investigate some of these in this program.
