Columbia, SC…To kick off the Foothills edition of the Road Show in Union County, Mayor E. Bruce Morgan will appear on the ETV Road Show to proclaim Thursday, Nov. 9 as “ETV Day” in Union.  The Road Show will broadcast live from downtown Union and the public is cordially invited to attend.

The ETV Road Show brings an exciting mix of live events, including programming on television, and radio, as well as educational activities aimed at spotlighting Union County to the rest of South Carolina and surrounding states. 

ETV will be in the Upstate of South Carolina from Nov. 9-15 visiting and showcasing other communities, including Cherokee and Spartanburg counties.

The schedule of events for Nov. 9 include:

Children’s Events:

Piggley Winks from Jakers! The Adventures of Piggley Winks will be meeting and greeting his young friends at the Union County Carnegie Library from 10 a.m. – noon.  The library is located at 300 East South Street in Union.  Parents are encouraged to bring cameras to capture the magic.

LIVE BROADCASTS:

12 – 1 p.m.          Your Day                        Broadcast on ETV/ETV Radio/ETV SC Channel

Features conversations with community leaders about the city’s bio-diesel initiative and live music from local musicians.

4 – 5 p.m.            Xpress                            Broadcast on ETV/ITV/ETV SC Channel

This teen-oriented special, hosted by Dr. Glen Walter, asks students, “Who do you trust?”  Through a call-in number, teens from across the state will be given the opportunity to voice their opinions.

7 – 8 p.m.            ETV Road Show               Broadcast on ETV/ETV SC Channel; Encore presentation airs on Sunday, Nov. 12 at 10 a.m.

Highlights include live and taped segments that feature a look at the history of Union County, the Union County Museum, production of “Boogaloo,” the Uniquely Union Festival, Revolutionary War sites, and more.

In the Upstate region, viewers can tune into ETV on WRET-TV, channel 49; WNTV, channel 29; WNEH-TV, channel 38; and ETV Radio on WEPR-FM 90.1. The South Carolina Channel is ETV’s digital broadcast service committed to airing events and programs of interest to those in the Palmetto State and surrounding areas. Viewers should contact their local cable company for availability of the South Carolina Channel.
