South Carolina ETV Provides Complete Live Convention Coverage

SCETV provides primetime gavel-to-gavel coverage of news-worthy events of both the Republican and Democratic National Conventions, part of PBS Convention Coverage: A NewsHour Special Report. Award-winning political journalists Judy Woodruff and Gwen Ifill co-anchor live broadcast coverage from the PBS Skybox at the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida (August 27 – 30), and from the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina (September 4 – 5), as well as the Bank of America Stadium (September 6), beginning each night at 8 p.m. South Carolina viewers can watch Gov. Nikki Haley’s speech live on Monday, Aug. 27 at 10 p.m. ETV will also stream the speech live on its website, www.scetv.org.
Between speeches and events on the convention floor, Ifill and Woodruff interview political newsmakers and solicit analysis and perspective from NewsHour regulars Shields and Brooks, presidential historians and others.
ETV’s public affairs series The Big Picture brings local highlights and analysis from both the Republican National Convention (Aug. 30 at 7:30 p.m.) and the Democratic National Convention (Sept. 6 at 7:30 p.m.). South Carolina politicians and delegates share their thoughts not only on the upcoming presidential election, but also give an inside look at both events. Charles Bierbauer, dean of the USC Mass Communications and Information Studies and former CNN correspondent, hosts.
In addition, Washington Week airs a special Town Hall Event: Florida Edition, with insight on the upcoming Republican Convention, Aug. 26 at 4:30 p.m. and Aug. 27 at 6 p.m. on ETV World. Washington Week Town Hall Event: Carolinas Edition airs just prior to the Democratic Convention, Aug. 31 at 8:30 p.m. and Sept. 2 at 1:30 p.m. on ETV HD.
