ETV Radio is pleased to announce that its national radio series, Song Travels with Michael Feinstein, has been renewed for a third season.

General Manager of South Carolina ETV Radio and TV Programming Shari Hutchinson foresaw that this program would be a great success with public radio stations across the country.

"Feinstein is a real credit to ETV Radio.  His vast knowledge of music, combined with his delightful personality, makes him a natural radio host.  During the previous two seasons, we've had a lot of household names on the show, including Liza Minnelli, Aaron Neville, Bette Midler and Wayne Brady.  And we've got another great line-up for season three that we look forward to sharing with audiences nationwide," said Hutchinson.

Host Michael Feinstein is a multi-platinum-selling, five-time Grammy Award-nominated entertainer dubbed “The Ambassador of the Great American Songbook.”  On Song Travels, he sits down with a different guest every week to discuss classic favorites and new hits, and the stories behind these much-loved songs. These personal insights, along with solo performances and duets with Feinstein, share the individual journeys of singers and songs, and the changes that transpire throughout the course of a lifetime.

“We talk about songs. How important they are in our lives…how they’ve changed our lives…how sometimes they make life worth living,” said Michael Feinstein.

Musicians and special guests in the third season line-up include: Grammy-winning violinist and multifaceted fiddler Mark O'Connor; Pulitzer Prize-winning lyricist and pillar of Broadway Sheldon Harnick; singer/songwriter Valerie Simpson, who co-wrote hits including "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" and "I'm Every Woman" with late husband Nick Ashford; singer/songwriter and winner of reality TV series Nashville Star Chris Young; journalist, author and humanitarian Dena Kaye (daughter of Danny Kaye); vocalist and acclaimed performer Madeleine Peyroux; Grammy Award-nominated country music performer Hunter Hayes; composer/pianist Rob Schwimmer; singer/songwriter Eric Hutchinson; pop icon Barry Manilow, whose hits including "Mandy", "Can't Smile Without You," and "Copacabana" have made him a household name; R&B singer/songwriter James Ingram; vocalist and top commercial performer Patti Austin; and two-time winner of the Grammy Hall of Fame award, jazz and pop vocalist Johnny Mathis

Song Travels is broadcast in South Carolina every Sunday at 2:00 p.m. on ETV Radio news services and 6:00 p.m. on ETV Radio classical services.

The series is produced by South Carolina ETV Radio, the same team that produced Marian McPartland’s Piano Jazz for over 30 years, and produced the original American Popular Song with Alec Wilder and Friends in 1977. For more information, please visit scetv.org/songtravels
