Rowland Alston to Receive the Order of the Palmetto During His Final Show as Host of “Making It Grow!”

WHO: Rowland Alston, the retiring host of South Carolina ETV’s “Making It Grow!”
WHAT: Will receive the Order of the Palmetto, as well as House and Senate resolutions honoring him. Members of the General Assembly will be in attendance to bestow the honors to Alston.
WHEN: Tuesday, June 26 at 7 p.m. during the live broadcast of “Making It Grow!”
WHERE: “Making It Grow!” is broadcast from ETV Sumter, located at 18 N. Harvin Street in Sumter. Viewers can watch on South Carolina ETV.
WHY: Alston is retiring after a decades-long career in broadcasting, first with “Agriculture Today” from 1975 to 1993, and then as host of “Making It Grow!” from 1993 to 2012. He has also served as a Clemson Extension Agent since 1970.
