Ridgeland Mayor Proclaims May 8th "ETV Day"

ETV's Lowcountry Road Show Coming to Ridgeland

Columbia, SC...As ETV makes its fourth stop on its tour of the beautiful South Carolina Lowcountry, Mayor Ralph Tuten will appear on the ETV Road Show to proclaim May 8 “ETV Day” in Ridgeland.  The broadcasts will air beginning at 12 p.m. from West Main at Ridge Point Square.  The public is encouraged to attend.

The ETV Road Show brings a unique variety of live events, including programming on television and radio, as well as educational activities aimed at highlighting Jasper County to the rest of South Carolina and surrounding states. 

ETV will be in the Lowcountry May 4-10 visiting and showcasing other communities, including Hilton Head Island, Walterboro, Beaufort, Bluffton and Hampton.

May 8th’s events will include:

Clifford the Big Red Dog who will be meeting and greeting all of his young fans at the following locations and times.  Parents are encouraged to bring cameras to capture the magic.

  • Hardeeville Community Library, Main Street, Hardeeville from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
  • Downtown Ridgeland, Ridge Point Square at West Main & South Railroad from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. 

LIVE BROADCASTS

12 – 1 p.m.            Your Day                             Broadcast on ETV/ETV Radio

This program features conversations about the history of Ridgeland, including future development initiatives and a discussion from the Tillman Sand Ridge Heritage Preserve about on-going research on the rare gopher tortoise.  South Carolina singer/songwriter, Shannon Tanner performs live.

3 – 4 p.m.            Your Day Extra                  Broadcast on ETV/ETV Radio

This broadcast features conversations with Mayor Ralph Tuten and other local representatives, talks with area cooks about the unique local cuisine, and visits the Waddell Mariculture Center.

7 – 8 p.m.             ETV Road Show                 Broadcast on ETV and ETV’s SC Channel

Highlights include live and taped segments that feature Celebrate Hardeeville, The Great American Pow-Wow, economic development of Hardeeville, the Blue Heron Education Center, Palm Key and more.

In the Lowcountry region, ETV is carried by WJWJ-TV, channel 16; WITV-TV, channel 7, and ETV Radio by WJWJ (89.9 FM). The South Carolina Channel is ETV’s digital broadcast service committed to airing events and programs of interest to those in the Palmetto State and surrounding areas.
