President Emeritus of Wofford College on ETV Radio

For Immediate Release
September 6, 2013

Dr. Benjamin Dunlap, president emeritus of Wofford College, will be a guest on Walter Edgar's Journal, Friday, September 20 at 12:00 p.m. on all ETV Radio services.

In July of 2013, Dr. Benjamin Dunlap retired after 13 years as president of Wofford College. He was only the 10th chief executive in the 150-year history of the school.

Dunlap attended Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar, and received his Ph.D. and held faculty appointments at Harvard University.  In 1968, he took a position at the University of South Carolina, where he won numerous awards including the Russell Award for Distinguished Scholarship, University of South Carolina Teacher of the Year Award, and the South Carolina College Outstanding Professor Award.

While at USC, Dr. Dunlap began a long collaboration with ETV.  The Emmy-nominated, ETV-produced PBS series Cinematic Eye resulted from that collaboration.

On Walter Edgar's Journal, Dr. Dunlap talks about Cinematic Eye, his retirement, and years working in higher education.

There will be a repeat broadcast Sunday, September 22 at 4:00 p.m. on ETV Radio news service.
