It's No Sweat for "Barbecue America" on ETV

Sweatman's Barbecue Restaurant in Holly Hill Reigns Supreme

Columbia, SC…On Saturday, July 1, ETV presents two programs full of smoky goodness that will make viewers' mouths water.  Both programs cook up one of the most recognized staples of American cuisine: barbecue. 

At 2 p.m., Barbecue America travels to Sweatman's Barbecue in Holly Hill, SC, on its tour of the best barbecue joints in the South and southeastern United States.  Host Rick Browne, a renowned barbecue and grilling expert, and author of "The Big Book of Barbecue Sides,” fires up the grill for some Coca-Cola BBQ Ribs and finishes it off with a Grilled Banana Split.

At 2:30 p.m., Barbecue University pays tribute to Louisiana’s rich culinary traditions with several recipes that reflect the unique flavors of Cajun barbecue.  Host and Chef Steven Raichlen demonstrates several lip-smacking recipes, including Grill-Top Shrimp Boil jazzed up with grilled bratwurst, Cajun Tuna Pipérade and Big Easy Barbecued Turkey.
