Hilton Head Island Mayor Proclaims May 5th "ETV Day"

ETV's Lowcountry Road Show Coming Soon to Hilton Head Island

Columbia, SC...As ETV continues its tour of the culture-rich Lowcountry, Mayor Thomas Peeples will appear on the ETV Road Show to proclaim May 5 “ETV Day” in Hilton Head Island. The live broadcasts begin at 12 p.m. from the Sea Pines Golf Resort. The public is cordially invited to attend.

The ETV Road Show brings an entertaining combination of live events, including programming on television and radio, as well as educational activities aimed at highlighting the Hilton Head Island community to the rest of South Carolina and surrounding states.

ETV will be in the Lowcountry May 4-10 visiting and showcasing other communities, including Walterboro, Beaufort, Hampton, Bluffton and Ridgeland.

May 5’s events will include:

LIVE BROADCASTS

12 – 1 p.m. Walter Edgar’s Journal Broadcast on ETV/ETV Radio

This live broadcast will feature conversations with special guest, John Jakes, author of “North and South.”

1 – 2 p.m. Project Discovery Broadcast on ETV and via satellite to schools statewide

Live from Sea Pines Golf Resort, this youth-oriented special focuses on ecological issues in the area, inviting kids to call in and ask our environmental experts their questions. Call-in number: 1-800-763-ETV1.

3 – 4 p.m. Your Day Extra Broadcast on ETV Radio

This food-themed program spotlights local specialty food vendors from the Hilton Head Cookie Company, Hilton Head Ice Cream Company, Laglore/Gullah Shop and others.

7 – 8 p.m. ETV Road Show Broadcast on ETV/ETV’s South Carolina Channel

Highlights include live and taped segments that feature Hilton Head Island Mayor Thomas Peeples, as well as special presentations on the impact of the Verizon Heritage Golf Tournament, the design of Hilton Head Island and the impact founder and developer Charles Frasier’s vision continues to have on the area.

In the Lowcountry region, ETV is carried by WJWJ-TV, channel 16; WITV-TV, channel 7, and ETV Radio by WJWJ (89.9 FM). The South Carolina Channel is ETV’s digital broadcast service committed to airing events and programs of interest to those in the Palmetto State and surrounding areas.
