February 20, 2008
Columbia, SC...ETV kicks off another adventuresome season with Expeditions on Sunday, March 23 at 7:30 p.m. as Patrick McMillan takes viewers through swampland and deserts alike, revealing the curious wonders of nature.
Crisscrossing the nation with excursions to captivating destinations like wildlife-rich Spring Island in Beaufort County and the “wildflower paradise” at Stevens Creek in McCormick County to the acrid climate of Joshua Tree National Park in Southern California, every episode offers viewers an escape into a world that promises to fascinate nature lovers of all ages.
Episode one, Darters & Dace - Jewels of Our Mountain Streams, journeys across the Catawba, Watauga, and New River Watersheds in search of darters and dace, the brilliantly colored little fishes who resiliently live under the surface of the water right here in South Carolina. McMillan and aquatic expert Jeff Smith go in search of these splendid little gems who few folks know exist, yet are amazingly well-adapted to South Carolina mountain streams.
Other episodes take viewers inside equally magnificent Palmetto State treasures such as the 2100-acre Hitchcock Woods preserve in Aiken County, and the Southern Appalachian Mountain Bogs of Pickens County, with its endangered, yet rarely seen bog turtle because it spends most of its life underground.
Below is the schedule for season two of Expeditions.
