ETV to Simulcast the May 3 Republican Presidential Debate

Katon Dawson, SC Republican Party Chair, to Appear on "The Big Picture" Offering Pre- and Post-Debate Commentary and Analysis

Columbia, SC...At 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 3, ETV and ETV Radio will simulcast the first Republican Presidential debate, which will originate from the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in California.

The 90-minute debate among the 10 Republican candidates will be televised nationally by MSNBC and moderated by Chris Matthews.

ETV, through a special agreement with NBC, will carry the entire debate over ETV's statewide network of 11 television and eight radio stations.

ETV will begin and end its coverage of the debate with two special editions of "The Big Picture."  At 7:30 p.m., ETV's news and public affairs Managing Editor and Host Andrew Gobeil will speak with Katon Dawson, party chair for South Carolina's Republican Party, to find out what the candidates need to do to win the debate.  Then, at 9:30 p.m., Gobeil and Dawson will offer their commentary on how the debate played out, as well as the upcoming Republican debate that will be held in Columbia on Tuesday, May 15.
