ETV to Feature Acoustic Guitarist Tommy Emmanuel in “Center Stage”
For Immediate Release
November 17, 2009
Columbia, SC…On Monday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m., ETV will spotlight renowned acoustic guitarist Tommy Emmanuel in “Center Stage.”
Australia's "Entertainer of the Year" and two-time Grammy nominee, Emmanuel delivers a dazzling performance with the flair of unforgettable showmanship, flawless guitar skills and voluminous repertoire that never fails to amaze and engage his fans.
A household name in his native Australia, Emmanuel’s unique style - simply called "finger style" - is akin to playing guitar the way a pianist plays piano, using all ten fingers. Guitar legend Chet Atkins honored Emmanuel with the title of "Certified Guitar Player" for his lifetime contribution to the instrument, a rare honor shared by only three other people in the world -- Jerry Reed, Steve Wariner and John Knowles.
“Center Stage” is a refreshing mix of new and fan favorites from previous projects like The Mystery and Endless Road. Introduced are four never-before recorded songs of Emmanuel’s - “Ruby’s Eyes”, “The Jolly Swagman”, "Lenny Bro’” and “Papa George” (inspired by George Harrison).
