ETV to Broadcast Southern Lens Film "Strength From Selma"
Civil Rights Documentary to Air Thursday, Jan. 11 at 10 p.m.

Columbia, SC...Forty years ago in August 1965, President Lyndon Johnson signed the Voting Rights Act. The spark for this landmark legislation was as a result of the historic March on Selma. On Thursday, Jan. 11 at 10 p.m., ETV presents the insightful Southern Lens program, Strength From Selma.
In this documentary, independent filmmaker and news reporter, Steve Crump visits Alabama to talk with men and women who participated in the impassioned March on Selma. Through archival footage and interviews with march participants including U.S. Congressman John Lewis and retired police chief Jim Clark, Crump examines the groundbreaking events in the rural South that led to the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
