ETV Stirs Up a Spooky Mix of Ghostly Lore This Halloween

Columbia, SC…With the change of seasons and that oh-so-familiar chill in the air comes the ghoulish seduction of Halloween. From a scandalous maiden, cantankerous pirates and a ghost called “Bubba,” this All Hallows Eve, ETV leaves no headstone unturned.
On Thursday, Oct. 28 at 9 p.m., ETV’s “Carolina Stories Ghosts and Legends III” takes viewers on a scary excursion across the Palmetto State sharing spine-tingling ghost stories that will spellbind listeners of all ages, including:
• The legend of a ghost who supposedly haunts the 4th floor of the South Carolina State Museum
• The tale of a USC building that once was a Civil War hospital but now boasts the presence of a few Confederate ghosts
• The eerie story of a spirit that watches over South Carolina’s beaches and warns people of approaching deadly hurricanes
This 30-minute program takes a hauntingly interesting look at more of the Palmetto State’s peculiar phantoms and lore.
Stories featured in the documentary include:
• “Bubba the Ghost,” Columbia
• USC’s Longstreet Theatre, Columbia
• Alice of the Hermitage, Pawleys Island
• The Gray Man, Pawleys Island
• Drunken Jack the Pirate, Pawleys Island
• Legend of the Bouquet, Charleston
• Restless Spirits, Charleston
• Vanderhorst’s Creek Spectre, Charleston
Then at 9:30 p.m., ETV will air Ghosts and Legends of South Carolina II. This 2009 production visits a haunted bell tower at Newberry College, Hunters Store in Pendleton, the Stumphouse Tunnel in Walhalla and other menacing sites.
But wait! There’s more. The South Carolina State Museum will feature screenings of the “Carolina Stories Ghosts and Legends of South Carolina” documentaries on the following dates at 2 p.m.
Oct. 10 – Carolina Stories: Ghosts and Legends
Oct. 16 and 17 – Carolina Stories: Ghosts and Legends II
Oct. 23 and 24 – NEW Carolina Stories: Ghosts and Legends III Sneak Preview
Oct. 30 and 31 –Carolina Stories: Ghosts and Legends III
