ETV Spotlights Gifted Young Pianists with Broadcast of the "2006 South Carolina Piano Festival"

Columbia, SC...Columbia, SC…On Sunday, June 25 at 5 p.m., ETV presents the 2006 South Carolina Piano Festival. The program spotlights the winners of the annual competition, which is sponsored by ETV-Carolinas and the South Carolina Piano Teachers Association.
The 12 accomplished pianists, ages 9-16, will perform the challenging classical arrangements they played during competitions at the University of South Carolina (Region II-lower state) and at Winthrop University (Region I-upper state).
This year’s participants are:

Sara Ashley Hagins, age 14, Lancaster High School, Lancaster
Christine Hang, age 14, South Aiken High School, Aiken
Phillip Howe, age 12, Rawlinson Road Middle School, Rock Hill
Oliver Kao, age 12, Florence Christian School, Florence
Caitlin Lovett, age 10, Mt. Gallant Elementary School, Rock Hill
Lucy Mao, age 15, Northwestern High School, Rock Hill
Jennifer McNamee, age 16, Home School, Aiken
Frank Pezzimenti, age 16, Home School, Florence
Christine Weng, age 16, Myers Park High School, Charlotte, NC
Laura Weng, age 9, Community House Middle School, Charlotte, NC
The 2006 South Carolina Piano Festival is hosted by Kathryn Waller, a piano performance major at Winthrop University. Before entering college, Waller performed five times in the festival.
