Columbia, SC...Equipped with no more than a pencil, paper and an active imagination, approximately 500 third-grade students from across South Carolina wrote and submitted essays describing how a day spent walking with dinosaurs would look and sound.

The ETV Dinosaur Essay contest, hosted by ETV and the Colonial Life Center, rewarded first, second and third place winners with 50 free tickets for their entire class to attend the Sunday, October 11 performance of "Walking With Dinosaurs" at the Colonial Life Center in Columbia.

The essay winners are listed below:

Carolina Elementary School - Hartsville SC
Heathwood Hall - Columbia, SC

"This essay contest is another example of how ETV is helping our students learn on a daily basis," said Debbie Hamlett, Director of Development for ETV. "Kids already love dinosaurs and we knew the chance to win tickets for their classmates would really motivate them. Plus, teachers can use ETV resources like StreamlineSC, which has over 200 educational videos about dinosaurs, to really make their lessons come alive."

"Walking with Dinosaurs" is a dazzling 10 million pound arena spectacle of unprecedented size and quality set to captivate young and old alike.

South Carolina ETV is the state's public educational broadcasting network with 11 television and eight radio transmitters, and a multi-media educational system in more than 2,500 schools, colleges, businesses and government agencies.
