ETV Brings Create™ TV to The South Carolina Channel
For Immediate Release
February 17, 2009
Columbia, SC…Long before Food Network, DIY, HGTV and the Travel Channel, there was public television with the legendary chef Julia Child, travel guy Burt Wolf and a diverse array of others blazing a trail for these new kids on the block to follow.
Continuing that pioneering spirit, ETV’s South Carolina Channel brings 16 hours of new programming called Create™ TV, to its lineup. Every Monday through Friday from 12 midnight to 4 p.m., ETV will broadcast Create™ TV’s eclectic mix of how-to programs produced to engage the novice as well as the expert.
Designed to inspire viewers to taste, grow, imagine, explore and live more fully, Create™ TV highlights the best of gardening, travel and the ever-popular cooking shows like America’s Test Kitchen, Ciao Italia, and Simply Ming. Also featured in the daily lineup are the tried-and-true “hammer and nail” and crafting programs such as American Woodshop, This Old House, America Sews with Sue Hausmann and The Donna Dewberry Show.
Initially launched in 2004, the shows airing on Create™ TV are distributed by American Public Television (APT), the National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA) and Public Broadcasting Service (PBS).
The South Carolina Channel’s Create™ TV is where Palmetto State do-it-yourselfers will want to turn to learn tricks and shortcuts that will help in the pursuit of their passions, whether it’s improving a skill, preparing a delicious meal or discovering a far-away destination.
From Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow and acclaimed chef Mario Batali on the breathtakingly beautiful, unscripted road trips in Spain on the Road to GardenStory: Inspiring Spaces, Healing Places which spotlights innovative and exemplary gardens from all over the world, ETV’s South Carolina Channel brings the best of public television’s home and life improvement programs with just a click of the remote control.
South Carolina ETV is the state's public educational broadcasting network with 11 television and eight radio transmitters, and a multi-media educational system in more than 2,500 schools, colleges, businesses and government agencies. Using television, radio and the web, SCETV's mission is to enrich lives by educating children, informing and connecting citizens, celebrating our culture and environment and instilling the joy of learning.
