ETV and ETV Radio To Present Only Statewide Coverage of Republican Convention
Daily Television and Radio Broadcasts Begin Monday, Sept. 1 at 9 a.m.

As Election Day rapidly approaches, ETV and ETV Radio continue to bring the only statewide coverage of the Republican Convention from Minneapolis/St. Paul. As the only statewide electronic media outlet in South Carolina reporting from the convention, ETV is the Palmetto State’s source for comprehensive updates and analysis through television, radio and Web.
Below is a breakout of television, radio and Web coverage for the Republican Convention:
Radio
• Monday – ETV Radio will provide periodic news breaks from the convention during Morning Edition (5 a.m. – 9 a.m.) and All Things Considered (4 p.m. – 6 p.m.)
• Tuesday - Thursday at 9 a.m., ETV’s “The Big Picture on the Radio,” with host Mark Quinn and South Carolina reporters, brings LIVE daily updates from the convention site. Then at 9:30 a.m., Dr. Bob Becker, director of the Strom Thurmond Institute on Government and Public Affairs, anchors the second half-hour of these special radio programs
• Monday-Thursday at noon - Donna London, director of the Jim Self Center on the Future, hosts convention updates during Your Day’s regularly scheduled broadcast
• Friday at 9 a.m. – The hour-long broadcast of The Big Picture on the Radio wraps up the week with in-depth analysis of the events from the convention site, focusing on the global view of the gathering as well as the impact of its outcome. The program also includes insights from local reporters.
Television
• Monday-Thursday at 7 p.m., PBS Convention Coverage -- A NewsHour Special Report features comprehensive daily updates from the conventions
• Monday-Thursday – Periodic Convention Dailies will air each day during NewsHour with Jim Lehrer and NewsHour Special Reports, highlighting the aspects of the Republican convention that are important to South Carolinians
• Thursday at 7:30 p.m., ETV broadcasts a special edition of The Big Picture LIVE from the convention site and Columbia. Co-hosted by Mark Quinn from Minnesota and Beryl Dakers in the ETV studios in Columbia, this special program gives viewers an inside look at the impact of the South Carolina delegation at the convention. The Felkel Group’s senior political strategist Chip Felkel will be the guest analyst for this broadcast

• Monday-Thursday, ETV will host interactive blogs on its Web site from a variety of perspectives
• Monday-Thursday, Republican State Delegate Glenn McCall will host blogs during the convention
• Monday-Thursday, ETV producers and photographers will host blogs live from Minneapolis/St. Paul
