From Portugal to Peru, from Bangladesh to Belize, The State of the Planet's Oceans evocatively reveals stories of hope, courage and redemption.
Presented in association with South Carolina ETV, The State of the Planet’s Oceans draws to a close with a tour of the elegant world of biodiversity and beauty. Through a first-person essay from distinguished oceanographer and explorer, Sylvia Earle, viewers are taken down to the darkest depths of the ocean. As the water turns from blue to violet to inky black, Earle explains how the living systems of the ocean are crucial to our survival and how ultimately, we must all work together to ensure the oceans, on which all life depends, continue to thrive.
Produced by Emmy Award-winning filmmakers Hal and Marilyn Weiner, the Journey To Planet Earth series reports on the most important environmental and sustainable development issues of the 21st century.
