Edgefield Mayor Durham Proclaims May 18th as "ETV Day"

Columbia, SC...As ETV makes its second stop on its tour of the scenic horse country of Edgefield County, Mayor W. Ken Durham will appear on the ETV Road Show to proclaim Friday, May 18 as “ETV Day” in Edgefield. The Road Show will broadcast live from the Edgefield town square and the public is cordially invited to attend.
The ETV Road Show brings a festive array of live events, including programming on television and radio, as well as educational activities aimed at spotlighting Edgefield County to the rest of South Carolina and surrounding states.
ETV will be in the thoroughbred region of South Carolina from May 17-23 visiting and showcasing other communities, including those in Aiken, McCormick, Barnwell, and Saluda counties.

Children’s Events:
Arthur, the title character from the popular TV series on ETV Kids, will be meeting and greeting his young friends at the Edgefield County Library from 10 a.m. - noon. The library is located at 105 Courthouse Square in Edgefield. Parents are encouraged to bring cameras to capture the magic.
LIVE BROADCASTS:
12 - 1 p.m. Walter Edgar’s Journal Broadcast on ETV/ETV Radio/ETV SC Channel
Dr. Edgar tours historic Edgefield, with visits to The Old Edgefield Pottery, Willowbrook Cemetery, the Discovery Center of the SC National Heritage Corridor, and Terry Ferrell, owner of Terry Ferrell's Museum which contains local artifacts.
1 - 2 p.m. Project Discovery Broadcast on ETV/ETV SC Channel/ITV
Project Discovery will spotlight the rich political history of Edgefield County, home of 10 former SC governors; the famous Edgefield pottery; and the Joanne T. Rainsford Region II Heritage Discovery Center.
3 - 4 p.m. Your Day Extra Broadcast on ETV/ETV SC Channel
Spotlights citizens and community leaders who present interesting and fun facts about Edgefield and surrounding towns. Live music from local musicians round out the afternoon.
7 - 8 p.m. ETV Road Show Broadcast on ETV/ETV SC Channel
Highlights include live and taped segments that feature the greatly celebrated Edgefield pottery, the Johnston Peach Blossom Festival, the town of Trenton, the Discovery Center and the National Wild Turkey Federation. Live music from Brass Tymes, specialists in beach and Carolina dance tunes, complements the evening. Encore presentation airs on Sunday, May 20 at 5 p.m.
Viewers in South Carolina’s equestrian hub can tune into ETV on WEBA-TV, channel 14; WRLK-TV, channel 35 and ETV Radio on WLJK (89.1 FM). The South Carolina Channel is ETV’s digital broadcast service committed to airing events and programs of interest to those in the Palmetto State and surrounding areas. Viewers should contact their local cable company for availability of the South Carolina Channel.
