Legendary Entertainer Connie Stevens to Host ETV’s Broadcast of My Music: Love Songs of the 50s and 60s

For Immediate Release
November 19, 2008

On Monday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m., world-renowned actress and singer Connie Stevens hosts ETV’s broadcast of My Music: Love Songs of the 50s and 60s. This special takes a nostalgic look back to a golden era of romance, with a heart-warming selection of timeless ballads, using a mix of new performances and rarely-seen vintage footage.

Viewers will be treated to the velvet-voiced groups that represent some of the most moving sounds from the Eisenhower and Kennedy years. From The Four Aces’ “Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing,” to The Crew Cuts’ “Sh-Boom” and The Tymes' “So Much in Love,” these number-one hits are presented in freshly recorded concert versions.

Also included in this hour-long program are such celebrated artists as Les Paul and Mary Ford (“Vaya Con Dios”), Patti Page (“Tennessee Waltz”), and The Everly Brothers (“Bye, Bye Love”), who can be seen in full-length archival clips performing their signature tunes that have sold millions.

Little Anthony reunites with The Imperials on stage to sing a pair of the group’s greatest hits, “Goin’ Out of My Head” and “Hurt So Bad,” while Fred Parris, original lead vocalist for the Five Satins, closes appropriately with a spine-tingling rendition of “In the Still of the Night.”
