ETV Travels to Blythewood School to Celebrate With Students Who Made Its Streamline SC Video-on-Demand Service One-in-a-Million

For Immediate Release
March 2, 2006

Columbia SC… On Friday, March 17 at 2 p.m., ETV will be at Round Top Elementary School in Blythewood to celebrate the fact that Round Top recently posted the 1 millionth hit on ETV’s StreamlineSC.

Thanks to Clarissa Bennett, a speech pathologist at Round Top, the momentous occasion occurred when—with a simple click of her mouse—she downloaded a video entitled “Junior Oceanographer: Oceans, Weather, and Climate.”

During the March 17 celebration, Bennett will be honored, and the school will be presented with an InFocus LCD projector and state-of-the-art speakers courtesy of ETV and its partner in StreamlineSC, Discovery Education. With the addition of this new equipment, StreamlineSC videos will become even more engaging, bringing life-size sight and sound to the classroom.

Students, gathered in the Multi-purpose Room, will be treated to a visit from ETV’s Dooley of Dooley and Pals and Ms. Marie from Detective Bonz and the SC History Mystery—and then there’s the balloon and confetti drop as the prize is unveiled.

Additional special guests will include:

  • William F. “Bill” Cotty, Representative - Kershaw & Richland counties
  • Pete Amoth, Mayor of Blythewood who will read a proclamation declaring March 17 “ETV and Round Top Elementary School Day”
  • Joyce Dickerson, Richland County Council, District 2
