Columbia, SC...The excitement of the Horse Country edition of the ETV Road Show continues in picturesque Aiken on Saturday, May 19.  Mayor Fred Cavanaugh will proclaim “ETV Day” in Aiken during the live broadcast from Newberry Street.  The public is cordially invited to attend.

Then, on Tuesday, May 22, ETV will return with live broadcasts from Hopelands Gardens.  Both days promise plenty of special programs and events for the entire family.

The ETV Road Show brings an exciting mix of live events, including programming on television and radio, as well as educational activities aimed at spotlighting Aiken County to the rest of South Carolina and surrounding states. 

ETV will be in the thoroughbred region of South Carolina from May 17-23 visiting and showcasing other communities, including those in Barnwell, McCormick, Saluda, and Edgefield counties.

Listed below is a schedule of events for Aiken.

LIVE BROADCASTS:

1 - 1:30 p.m.      Your Day Extra                   Broadcast on ETV/ETV Radio/ETV SC Channel

Features conversations with citizens and community leaders on a variety of topics including economic development, the performing arts, and culinary trends.  Live music from local musicians complements the broadcast.

1:30 - 2 p.m.     Your Day Extra                       Broadcast on ETV/ETV SC Channel

Spotlights citizens and community leaders who present interesting and fun facts about Aiken and the surrounding towns.  Live music from local musicians round out the afternoon.

2 - 5 p.m.         ETV Road Show                     Broadcast on ETV/ETV SC Channel

Highlights include live and taped segments that feature USC Aiken, the Savannah River National Energy Lab, Hopelands Gardens, North Augusta, Hitchcock Woods, area golf courses, the 125th anniversary of polo, downtown revitalization, the arts community, the African American Heritage Center, the Highland Games, live music and more.

TUESDAY, MAY 22

On Tuesday, May 22, the Road Show presents several Gardening Day broadcasts from the graceful confines of Hopelands Gardens. 

Arthur, the title character from the popular TV series on ETV Kids, will be meeting and greeting his young friends at the Aiken County Library from 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.  The library is located at 314 Chesterfield Street, SW in Aiken. Parents are encouraged to bring cameras to capture the magic.

12 - 1 p.m.       Your Day                     Broadcast on ETV/ETV Radio/ETV SC Channel

Features lighthearted discussions with residents and local leaders about topics of interest including economic development, the performing arts, and culinary trends.  Live music from local musicians adds a festive touch to the broadcast.

3 - 4 p.m.         Your Day Extra                       Broadcast on ETV/ETV SC Channel

This broadcast engages residents and community leaders who offer interesting and fun facts about Aiken and surrounding towns.  Live music from local musicians rounds out the afternoon.

4 - 5 p.m.          Making It Grow!                     Broadcast on ETV/ETV SC Channel

Clemson University’s Rowland Alston, along with a panel of horticulturists, will answer gardening questions live from Hopelands Garden.  A special encore presentation of this program will air at 7 p.m.

Viewers in South Carolina’s equestrian hub can tune into ETV on WEBA-TV, channel 14; WRLK-TV, channel 35 and ETV Radio on WLJK (89.1 FM). The South Carolina Channel is ETV’s digital broadcast service committed to airing events and programs of interest to those in the Palmetto State and surrounding areas. Viewers should contact their local cable company for availability of the South Carolina Channel.
