President's Corner

Dear Viewers and Listeners:

Throughout the year, we invite you to explore the accomplishments and achievements of African Americans locally and nationally through ETV’s broadcast and online offerings.

This February, we are proud to present a variety of exclusive programming. ETV broadcasts a comprehensive biography of jazz singer and bandleader Cab Calloway; an in-depth look at William Still’s contribution to the Underground Railroad; and the Sundance Film Festival selection, Slavery by Another Name, based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book by Douglas A. Blackmon.

We will also broadcast Benedict College’s Black History Teleconference, which is produced in South Carolina and distributed internationally. This year’s topic is The Struggle Continues: Black Women in American Culture and History. The teleconference, developed by Dr. Marianna W. Davis, celebrates its 25th year, and it promises to be the best one yet. Over the years, Dr. Davis has brought many prominent African Americans to the state to participate in this event. We would like to thank Dr. Davis for her hard work and dedication to this annual event.

Also in February, we’ll be hosting the "I Love ETV Radio" fund drive. Our ETV Radio listeners are loyal and generous. We thank you for your continued support over the years!

Linda O’Bryon
President and CEO
