Dear Viewers and Listeners:
In this month of Thanksgiving, ETV and ETV Radio have much to be thankful for, as we continue to offer you entertaining, enlightening and informative programming.
To commemorate Veterans Day, ETV presents Salute to Troops: In Performance at the White House, an all-star tribute to the men, women and their families who serve the United States. The two-part special, Unsung Heroes: The Story of America’s Female Patriots, highlights heroic women who have shattered the “brass” ceiling through valiant deeds on land, in the air and at sea. Premiering on Veterans Day, Navy Seals: Their Untold Story gives firsthand accounts of ticking-clock missions and clandestine operations of these “Commandoes of the Deep.”
On the ETV Classics special Once a Marine, former Marine Bill Mahoney of Parris Island explores what makes the Corps different from other branches of military service. A Carolina Stories program, The Vanishing Generation, features first-hand accounts of World War II by South Carolina veterans.
For Agatha Christie fans, we’re delighted to present the final three episodes of Agatha Christie’s Poirot, which follows the great Belgian detective as he summons the last of his strength to battle his ultimate nemesis in his last case ever.
Our Decemberfest pledge event begins the end of November, and includes new behind-the-scenes looks at two popular series: Doc Martin Revealed and Downton Abbey Rediscovered. Getting viewers ready for the upcoming holiday season, we feature the nostalgic Lawrence Welk Holiday Special and uplifting Christmas with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir special. On Nov. 30, a special 8-hour marathon of The African Americans: Many Rivers to Cross chronicles the full sweep of African-American history through four centuries of remarkable historic events leading up to the present day.
Our ETV Radio listeners will notice a new Morning Edition segment clock, which shifts the times of our short local modules within the Morning Editiontime block. Please check the grids on pages 18 and 19 to see when your favorite module airs.
We do give thanks to you, our viewers and listeners, for your continued and much-valued support.
