Dear Viewers and Listeners:

As 2012 draws to a close, we say thank you for your support over the past year.

Your efforts have enabled ETV to create and distribute an array of thought-provoking and high-quality content across radio, TV, interactive and education services.  In short, it’s been a terrific year, thanks to you. Here are a few highlights:

  • ETV and South Carolina were center stage for a host of national efforts over the past year.  Washington Week, Need to Know, Antiques Roadshow and StoryCorps all recorded programs or segments in South Carolina this year in cooperation with SCETV.

  • Song Travels with Michael Feinstein launched over NPR stations, and this ETV Radio-produced series is now in production for Season II. The new lineup of shows includes an eclectic slate of guests including Wynton Marsalis, Shelby Lynne, Jose Feliciano, Aaron Neville and more.

  • ETV Radio marked its 40th anniversary in South Carolina this year. And during the past three years, ETV Radio increased its audience by nearly 25 percent to 378,000 tuning in each week (Arbitron 2011).

  • Several S.C. Hall of Fame video biographies were featured in special Carolina Stories—including Space Heroes, the stories of three astronauts (Charles Duke, Ron McNair and Charles Bolden), and Born to Rebel, profiling civil rights pioneer and educator Benjamin Mays. All of these biographies have been offered through ETV Education Services, reaching classrooms across the state.

December brings an array of holiday programming including highlights of the Governor’s Carolighting, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m., encoring December 23 at 6 p.m.

On the horizon for 2013 is a multitude of exciting programming initiatives, including the third season of a much-awaited Masterpiece Classic and the surprising Antiques Roadshow “finds” from Myrtle Beach. Mark your calendars!

Best wishes to you and your families for a very happy holiday season.
