Black River Kayak Tours

Pee Dee Explorer is intended to inspire real adventures based on virtual ones provided by videos on the site. Outfitters are commercial organizations that offer safe, guided trips on the many waterways of the Pee Dee region. Nearly every river in the region can be explored with the help of an outfitter, most of which provide “ecotours” that combine educational and recreational experiences in the environment. This video features Black River Outfitters, a service that specializes in guiding locals and tourists on tours of coastal rivers in the Georgetown area, namely the Black River, a 75 mile portion of which is the state's seventh and longest State Scenic River. The Black River is home to a variety of waterfowl, wading birds and thought to be one of the few remaining marine habitats supporting the shortnose sturgeon, an increasingly endangered species of prehistoric fish.
