Hi, I bought a house 6 years ago (built in 1932) that has bearded irises planted along the driveway in full sun. I have thinned them, fertilized them and has the soil test, all to no avail. The greens are healthy but no blooms. Any ideas?

We have a large lot that we are looking to either sod or hydro-seed. It slopes gently to the lake w/ good sun exposure. What is your experience w/ hydro-seeding and what kind of grass would do well in this clay soil? We've had very different opinions on supplementing the soil for grass w/ topsoil, compost, etc. Is all that necessary for our 1/2 acre lot? Thanks, and love your show!
