In Our Schools: Red Carpet Schools & Environmental Ed
In Our Schools, a series produced by ITV and designed for parents, educators and community partners, focuses on positive educational initiatives in our state schools. This month’s NEW program features three of South Carolina’s Red Carpet Award-winning Schools for 2009 that were selected for this honor because of their family-friendly, customer-oriented environments.
Tune in to see first hand the strategies that Dover Elementary School in Orangeburg Consolidated School District Five, Chapman High School in Spartanburg School District One and Condor Elementary School in Richland School District Two have implemented to provide warm, inviting environments for all school partners, including parents, community members, and businesses.
Learn how these fine schools strive to be an inviting place for parents to participate and see how each school is committed to being a focal point in their community. The Red Carpet Schools program was started because it has been shown that a positive school climate supports increased academic achievement.
In addition, the hour-long special will include at the end a segment featuring Long Middle School in Chesterfield County School District. Learn how students, teachers, administration, and community are implementing an innovation across the curriculum and out the door! Environmental education is a part of all the teaching and learning that takes place at this fine school.
