In Our Schools: Palmetto Gold & Silver Award for Academic Improvement and School Health Success
Then tune in to ETV September 27th at 1:00 p.m. when the focus will be academic success and improvement as we take a visit to three schools that were honored with the Palmetto Gold and Silver Award 2009. Created by the Education Accountability Act of 1998, this award is presented to schools that have improved student performance. Go with ETV cameras to Forest Acres Elementary School in Pickens County, St. James Middle School in Horry County and Calhoun County High School.
Find out how these schools involve their entire school community and how they provide ways for all students to achieve success. In addition, we’ll talk about how good health and nutrition can be a factor in student achievement as we get an overview of what schools across the state are doing to impact student nutrition, physical activity and other health choices. School Health Success Stories gives us an overview of what nine schools and districts with their communities are doing to impact student health. Please plan to access these programs for your school administrators, teachers and parents!
