In Our Schools -  Showcases Innovative Initiatives That Impact Student Learning in SC Schools

Tune in to find about the State Department of Education’s new LATTIS initiative! “Looping advances teacher teaming and innovation in schools” is proving successful as shown by administrators and teachers at Mountain View Elementary in Taylors, SC. Hear from Mary Ruzga, SC Department of Education Office of School Choice and Innovation, Mountain View’s principal and two outstanding teachers who give an overview of how to set up and manage a multi-age classroom as we get to see their innovative approach to teaching young students!
We’ll also journey to Windsor Hill Elementary in Dorchester School District Two where they are celebrating success with their arts integration program that involves all students, including their special needs population. This fine South Carolina school was a Kennedy Center School of Distinction Award recipient in 2009. Hear from teachers and students as we see how innovation has engaged students and impacted learning for all.
In addition, join Ed Falco, SCDE Consultant for Environmental Education, to learn about the innovative environmental education program at Kelly Mill Middle School in Blythewood. Administrators, teachers and students share strategies they are utilizing successfully in “Implementing an Innovation - Across the Curriculum and Out the Door!” Then get a sneak preview of a new series for elementary and middle grade students entitled Environmental Ed. This new resource is being produced by ITV with ETV and will be available for our SC schools next school y ear!
Be sure to tape this program for your school administrators, elementary teachers, arts teachers, science educators, coaches, parents, and business partners.
