“Give me Shelter, A Community Responds”
Being Homeless is a problem that grows nationally every year. The Upstate Homeless Coalition of South Carolina is a private, non-profit organization, dedicated to ending homelessness through programming, advocacy, and building safe and affordable housing. UHCSC coordinates the Continuum of Care throughout a 13 county area, helping to find gaps in services for homeless people and develop strategies to close the gaps. They are committed to creating the systemic and attitudinal changes necessary to prevent and end homelessness. At the same time, they work to meet the immediate needs of people who are currently experiencing homelessness or who are at risk of doing so. ETV Upstate's "Give me Shelter, A community responds", shows how the Upstate community in South Carolina works together to combat all problems faced by the homeless.
