This year, Chesnee is celebrating its 100-year anniversary. In the last 100 years, the town has seen many changes and is making a concerted effort to preserve its proud history.
One of the events attached to the year-long celebration was the Centennial Celebration in downtown Chesnee on September 17, 2011.

Tyger River Park is the newest addition to Spartanburg Parks’ inventory. Located in the western end of Spartanburg County, Tyger River Park is scheduled to open in September and will include amenities such as 12 baseball/softball fields, a championship stadium and a nine-acre play park.
