S.C. Healthcare Amateur Radio Team
The SCHEART program is a valuable community resource serving primarily health care facilities and local emergency management, EMS, Fire Departments, and other agencies directly involved in emergency and disaster response and recovery. The ultimate goal is to provide a level of communications support and preparation that complements existing public safety systems and is transparent to the end users during a disaster.
Along with ETV, partners in the SCHEART Initiative are the USC-Center for Public Health Preparedness, Medical University of S.C., S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control, S.C. Budget and Control Board, S.C. Emergency Management Division and in the private sector the American Radio Relay League, Amateur Radio Emergency Services and the S.C. Hospital Association.
