Sparkfun Electronics at IT-oLogy/POSSCON: Technology Credits Available—Educators Invited

Sparkfun Electronics at IT-oLogy/POSSCON: Technology Credits Available—Educators Invited

Educators are invited to attend POSSCON 2013, which is scheduled for March 27 & 28 at IT-oLogy in Columbia.  POSSCON is an annual conference featuring open source software and hardware.  In 2012 approximately 600 people attended from 20 states, including many educators.

At POSSCON, Sparkfun Electronics, the extremely popular distributor of the Arduino and seller of electronic components, will be offering Wednesday (March 27) sessions on "STEM in Schools" and “Open Hardware with GitHub”.  They will also be offering two two-hour workshops on Thursday, March 28.  The Thursday morning workshop will be "Soldering with Simon" and the afternoon offering will be "Introduction to the Arduino with Simon".  All three sessions will offer an excellent opportunity for educators to learn technology they can take back to school districts, other educators and classes.  They will also provide an opportunity to communicate with Sparkfun directly, who will have 5-6 team members there.  Please note we will also provide certificates to every attendee that can be presented for technology credits.

The cost to attend the conference is just $79 for one day and $99 for both.  The Thursday workshops cost an additional $10 each because attendees will receive a Simon to take with them.  Although all workshop attendees must attend the conference, attendees will need to register for the conference and for the workshops separately.

If interested please register quickly at http://posscon.org/get-registered/.  The conference is close to being sold out and seating is very limited.
