New TV Channel Just For Schools - K-12 Instructional Media Channel

ETV and the SC State Department of Education (SDE) are offering a new K-12 channel just for schools; it’s called the K-12 Instructional Media Channel (K-12 IMC). Until July 2011, ETV used satellite channels to deliver rich K-12 content programs to schools. The satellite services ended, but those services have not ended. SDE’s Office of eLearning’s department of eMedia are scheduling all the K-12 programming to SC schools, including curriculum specific shows and programs focusing on professional development. Teachers can search the new K-12 IMC program guide on ETV’s OnePlaceSC.  They are encouraged to record the programs and playback whenever needed.  The channel is a gateway to NEW programming from national distributors like Colonial Williamsburg, Fairfax Network and the Kennedy Center and features live original programs such as In Our Schools.
