NEW on Riverbanks Roundup – Zoo Yuck-ology

eMedia continues working with the outstanding Riverbanks Zoo and Garden to feature educational aspects of the many wonderful animals, flora and fauna at the zoo in these NEW 30-minute programs! Join Riverbanks Roundup and Host Katie Mixon for this NEW edition entitled Zoo Yuck-ology! Things that make you go ewwwwww . . . Vultures pee on their own legs to stay cool, sea stars spit up their own stomachs to digest their lunch, Zoo Keepers can tell you all about an animal’s health by observing poop!  Zoo animals do some seemingly icky things to survive so let’s investigate and find out about Yuck-ology!

The content is designed to support South Carolina Science Academic Standards in grades K–6 such as Characteristics of Organisms, Animals, Habitats and Adaptations, Organisms and their Environments, and Ecosystems. Riverbanks Roundup programs each have a goal; are designed around themes; take in consideration of what students should know, feel and do after viewing; and also include conservation messages.  All programs are posted in StreamlineSC so check it out!
