Global Education Day

On April 12, 2013, students from across South Carolina will experience the world at Global Education Day, which is also the kick-off event for the weekend long 18th Annual Columbia International Festival.

Dedicated exclusively to children, Global Education Day integrates fun and learning for a hands-on engagement with cultural richness in our communities. The focus for 2013's Global Education Day is South Asia, but will also include more than fifty other countries across Africa, Asia, the Carribean, Central America, Europe, and South America. At least sixty exhibitors will showcase many items from their native regions, including arts, crafts, and national clothing. They will also show videos and photos and will be available to speak with students.

Global Education Day provides educators with the unique opportunity to open their students' eyes to our world's cultural richness and to South Carolina's ethnic diversity.
