Due to major construction, ETV and ETV Radio are not able to provide tours at this time.

Tour Frequently Asked Questions

When are tours available?

By appointment only. They are free to groups Monday - Friday from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Since we only have a small cadre of tour guides available, please give us as much notice as possible to get your tour scheduled.

How long do they last?

Approximately 45 minutes to an hour depending on how many questions participants ask.

Who can attend?

Any groups first grade and older.

How many people may we bring?

We limit 25 to a tour guide. If you are bringing more than 25 we will need to pre-arrange multiple guides.

Where are you located?

The ETV Telecommunications Center is located at 1041 George Rogers Boulevard, Columbia, SC 29201. CLICK HERE for Directions to ETV

What is shown on tour?

We will tour the Telecommunications Building (TCC) on the ETV campus. This building includes our high definition theater, master control, editing suites, graphics department, director's control as well as production and distance learning studios (if not in use). Tours are geared to the age level of the group.

Will we see ETV Radio?

ETV Radio is not on the traditional tour. Please ask specifically if this is something your participants would like to see.

What else should we know?

Ask questions. If you want to incorporate some real listening and learning we can provide a quiz for you to take back to class.

Ask group participants to be on their best behavior keeping in mind you will be touring a workplace and working studio facility.

We will need...

for you to tell us any specific topics you need covered that may pertain to a class/group project.

to know about any students with special needs. We have handicapped parking and a ramp available at the front of the building.

for you to bring a list of all attendees entering the building, including chaperones, to be stapled into our security book. We do not have access to a copier in the lobby, so please plan to bring a copy specifically for us to keep.
