Satellite Receiver Troubleshooting Guide

PROBLEM

My receiver is not working
(No channel display, no lights)
Screen is BLACK
AC cord unplugged.
Receiver is broken.
may be locked up
Plug in cord.
Call ETV.
Unplug Ac from rear, wait 30 seconds, reapply power, change channel with REMOTE CONTROL- try remapping after this if picture does not come up
I have a red Sat/TV light but no channel display and no green signal light.
Receiver needs to be remapped

No signal to receiver / receiver bad
Follow remapping instructions    DRS4200 DSR4200V

Call ETV
I have a green signal light but no channel display and no video. Note: only pertains if you are using the Channel 3 or 4 output of the receiver directly to a TV.
SAT/TV switch
Make sure SAT/TV switch is in the SAT position.
(Red light on)
I have a channel display but no video

(My green signal light is OFF)
Receiver needs to be remapped.

LNB or splitter is defective.
Follow remapping procedures. DRS4200 DSR4200V

Call ETV.
I have a channel display but no video

(My green signal light is ON)
Receiver locked up

Receiver has lost Authorization


VCR

Modulator

Receiver is dead
Press channel é and then channel ê .

Unplug receiver, wait 30 seconds, and plug back in.
Follow reauthorization instructions.

note-it could take 25 minutes for Reauthorization to occur;
if you need in a hurry, try resetting factory default procedure

If receiver loops through a VCR, make sure the
VCR/TV switch is in the TV position.

Make sure Modulator is plugged in.

Call ETV
  
Receiver has locked up

Receiver has lost authorization

Guide function activated.
Unplug receiver, wait 30 seconds, and plug back in.

Follow reauthorization instructions

Hit VIEW button twice.
My video and audio do not match or my video is frozen.
Receiver lost data
Press channel é and then channel ê .
My video is "pixelized" or locking up.
Inclement weather.
Heavy rain can cause intermittent operation of the receiver. When the rain passes, your receiver should return to proper operation
My receiver has no audio.
Connection
Make sure that the audio cable is plugged into in the LEFT (bottom) audio port on the back of the receiver.
My receiver audio is low.
Setting
Use right arrow button on the receiver and set the VOL bar to maximum. (Press repeatedly until bar goes no farther to the right).
When I try to remap a receiver, the remote control changes channels on all the receivers.
Remote control beam is too broad for individual control.
You can disable the receiver(s) you do not want to control by putting the SAT/TV switch in the TV position. (Red light OFF). Make sure to switch back to SAT position when you are through (Red light ON)
My VCR will not record from the satellite receiver
Setting
Make sure that the VCR is tuned to the receiver’s modulator channel. Example: Ch 15, Ch 17, etc.

Make sure that the VCR is set to the CATV mode.
