Charleston’s 20th Annual Family Event
CHARLESTON– KidsFair is Charleston’s Premiere Family Event of the Year!. It is a special day for families with children 3-12 years of age , and when the Gaillard Auditorium and grounds are converted into over 85 exhibits from local businesses and non-profit agencies, an explosive day filled with educational, interactive and fun activities for everyone is what you get! Over 12,000 Lowcountry children and their families are expected at this year’s 20th KidsFair on Sunday, March 9th, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This year, we are excited to announce the addition of ETV Kids, who will bring Clifford the Big Red Dog and Smart Cat to KidsFair 08! Give them hugs, high fives, or take your picture with Clifford and Smart Cat. And, don’t miss them in the special parade at noon!
The KidsFair theme continues to be “Connecting the Community to Our Kids.” By involving both local businesses and the non profit community, we feel we give families the opportunity to connect with all the resources that are available to them, right in their own backyard!
Over the past 20 years, KidsFair continues to emphasize the educational, social, and cultural enrichment opportunities available in the Charleston community and surrounding areas. KidsFair is centered on three major themes: KidSmart, KidPlay, and KidSafe. All of our exhibitors fit into one of these themes by providing an interactive activity emphasizing their particular business, product, or service.
KidsFair is sponsored by Publix Super Markets Charities, Inc., and Publix Super Markets, ABC News 4, The Post and Courier Newspaper, Charleston County School District, First Federal Bank, Apex Broadcasting, and ETV Kids. Exhibits and activities include: take home a picture of you with the ABC NEWS 4 Team, Ride a camel and see exotic animals at the petting zoo, playwith puppies, meet famous costumed characters like Clifford the Big Red Dog, Smart Cat, Plato the Publix dinosaur, First Federal’s Filbert the Squirrel, participae in creating a hanging kinetic sculpture exhibit, and much, much more!!! There will also be outdoor inflatables, a fire engine, police vehicles, and the bookmobile. You can also enjoy live entertainment all day long!
All of this is provided for a nominal entrance fee. Admission for everyone is $1.00 and PARKING IS FREE in the city garage located next to the Gaillard Auditorium.
