Meet Piggley Winks From “Jakers! The Adventures Of Piggley Winks”

This 2006 Emmy Award winner for Outstanding Children's Animated Program, follows the adventures of Piggley Winks, a spunky 8-year-old pig, and his friends, Dannan the Duck and Ferny the Bull on the Raloo Farm in 1950s Ireland. While the trio enjoy their escapades, American transplant, Wiley the Sheep (voiced by Mel Brooks) is busy offering wild and woolly advice to his young sheepish flock.

The opening and closing of each story features Piggley Winks as a granddad, telling tales of childhood shenanigans, as well as entertaining life lessons to his three very contemporary, rambunctious city-dwelling grandpigs. Following each animated episode, two live action segments are featured: "Piggley's Storyteller Playhouse" features professional storytellers demonstrating how specific elements, such as mood, are the keys to telling a good story and "Meet the Grandparents" speaks to the diversity and importance of learning from our elders.
