Frequently Asked Questions
Who is Dooley?
Dooley is a friendly alien always in search of adventure and fun. When he came to Earth, Dooley was 14 whipplebleens old. Though it's hard to determine his age in Earth years, it's certain that Dooley possesses the wonder and curiosity of a child while at the same time acting as a guide and role model. Ever eager for new friends, it's Dooley's sense of adventure and yearning for knowledge that drives his journey through space toward other planets and exciting new pursuits.
Where is Dooley from?
Far beyond our sun lies a planet far away. It is a place right out of our imagination. It's a bright, whimsical land of color where water might flow uphill and trees might float in mid-air. While inhabited by various kinds of friendly creatures, the planet is full of open space and interesting terrain. It is a peaceful planet where dreams might come true and exploration is always fun and exciting.
Who is M.A.R.T.I.E.?
Dooley left his home with his friend, M.A.R.T.I.E., a robot and all-around handyman aboard the space ship. M.A.R.T.I.E. is a somewhat bumbling mechanical friend with a giant heart and a love of adventure. He's apt to leap before looking and usually ends up learning a valuable lesson for it. M.A.R.T.I.E.'s comical word slips and enthusiasm make him both childlike and accessible to our viewers. Having access to his Earth-programmed data bank, M.A.R.T.I.E. is able to call up all sorts of information for his friends but needs a little assistance in learning emotional lessons. With the help of his young earthling friends, though, he's becoming more human with each episode.
How Did Dooley And M.A.R.T.I.E. meet?
Dooley and M.A.R.T.I.E. became fast friends when Dooley was young. Having a tendency to misplace his beloved hippleblat, Dooley's version of a teddy bear, he was beside himself at the playground one day when he couldn't find his favorite toy. M.A.R.T.I.E., a young robot himself, jumped right into the search effort and helped Dooley find his hippleblat. Since that day, the pair has been inseparable, seeking adventure and fun at every opportunity.
When did Dooley decide to leave his planet?
Though Dooley loved his planet, family and friends, he also loved learning and making new friends. This love of adventure, coupled with his desire to be an intergalactic space pilot, prompted Dooley to find a ship and plan an exciting space adventure. M.A.R.T.I.E. put the ship in flying shape and even fashioned a colorful uniform of sorts for his best friend, complete with an insignia. Dooley and M.A.R.T.I.E. were on their way. As journeys through space tend to be, the duo's flight was filled with new sights, sounds, tastes and lessons. But it was the beautiful blue-green planet filling the ship's windows one day that beckoned Dooley to visit. A planet so colorful had to house interesting creatures and discoveries. It wasn't until the ship landed, though, that Dooley and M.A.R.T.I.E. would discover what they came to call their home away from home.
Who are those two fuzzy creatures?
Cosmos & Zoom are two space friends who have come along for the ride. More like elusive passengers than stowaways, they enjoy each other's company as much as the adventures they have together. Though they never leave the ship (they're much more timid than they would have you believe), there's plenty to discover and games of hide and seek or tag never get boring for these two. Cosmos and Zoom love learning as much as Dooley and M.A.R.T.I.E., but they're a little slower at it. Nonetheless, they take great pleasure in their frenetic games and discoveries.
So where does Dooley live now?
Dooley and M.A.R.T.I.E. landed in the backyard of a typical suburban family. Nick and Maxx, siblings who seem to love to play and learn as much as the aliens they met one afternoon, welcomed Dooley and M.A.R.T.I.E. into their family eagerly. Their mom, a fun-loving parent and moral guide, has as much fun with the family's new friends as do the children. Dooley's ship, now anchored in the family's backyard, serves as the coolest playhouse a kid could imagine, a safe place and endless source of discovery and fun.
