Digital Education Services

Educational multimedia resources are created, acquired, and disseminated by ETV and local school districts.

Each districts delegates DES personnel to assist ETV in providing educational K-12 School Services, which include program resources and technologies for students, teachers and administrative staff.  DES facilitors assist school personnel, market educational content and assure quality multimedia materials are accessible on-demand for all teachers and staff within there respective districts.

DES typically manage the local school district's video streaming systems. These systems broadcast television programs, learning modules and school news programs throughout the school's computer systems.

The systems also store a variety of educational content, such as video, documents and images.  Teachers can schedule recordings of ETV and other broadcast cable channels, store them and playback when needed.  Many of the classrooms play the videos live or on-demand over a computer projection system.  In many cases, interactive presentation boards are used, enabling students and teachers to interact with the program material. Because the streaming media originates within the district network, the public Internet requirements are greatly reduced.
