As the winter holidays are approaching, there are many exciting events happening throughout South Carolina for families to celebrate the season.

The Upstate

Anderson Christmas Gift Light Festival

Experience 2.4 miles of lights in Anderson, SC. This year the event will benefit Anderson-Oconee Speech and Hearing, Cancer Association of Anderson, The Salvation Army, BAAC, Labor of Fields Church, and others. Go to Santa's Village or take a ride in a horse drawn carriage.

Christmas on the Rocks

What would happen if the children from all of the major Christmas movies and specials met together in a bar one night after they were grown up? The Warehouse Theatre presents a look at some off-beat, twisted, holiday tales.

Ed Harrison Memorial Celtic Christmas at Hagood Mill

A memorial to Ed Harrison, Celtic Christmas memorializes the musician with an annual event featuring local musicians, a visit from Santa, and traditional folk life and traditional arts demonstrations. This year's musicians will be Lucy Allen and Marshall Goers; The Battleaxe Band; and Lissakeole.

Festivus for the Rest of Us!

Growler Haus of Spartanburg puts on its annual Festivus extravaganza! There will be live music by Bearcastle Plantation, food specials from the Haus Bites menu, a selection of specialty beers and of course a festivus pole, unadorned.

Holiday Lights Safari

Hollywood, the Upstate's Animal Park, presents the Holiday Lights Safari! Drive among the animals and lights, then visit Santa's Village where you can meet some of the animals, visit Mrs. Claus' attic where you can see a panoramic view of all the lights. You can even feed animals from your car in the Enchanted Deer Forrest.

Horse Drawn Carriage Tours at the Fountain Inn

Fountain Inn celebrates a town tradition with its horse-drawn carriage rides. Carriage rides begin at Commerce Park and continue through downtown and the Inn Circle Community to see the beautiful light displays.

Ice on Main

United Community Bank Ice on Main is open for its sixth season! Celebrate the holidays at the open air skating rink in the heart of downtown Greenville.

Light Up Greenville

The Annual Community Menorah Lighting will take place at NOMA Square. There will be hot latkes, doughnuts, chocolate gelt and driedels, as well as a music video presentation by MACCABEATS.

The Real Christmas Story

Narroway Productions presents two shows in one! Watch Christmas scenes and songs and then presents a living Nativity. Snowfall is guranteed at every performance, and you can also enjoy a traditional Christmas dinner.

Rock Hill Community Theatre Presents: A Christmas Carol

In Ken Jone's adaptation of the classic Christmas Tale, the ensemble performs songs and sounds as Ebenezer Scrooge is confronted by the spirits of the Past, Present and Future!

Roper Mountain Holiday Lights

2016 marks the 25th year of this event which has become an upstate tradition for many families. There will be lights, stars and Santa on Roper Mountain! Walk along WinterWonderland and lighted trails, visit St. Nick, view giant greeting cards designed by students and more. Additional events will be at Roper Mountain throughout the holiday season.

Shadrack's Holiday Wonderland

A drive-through, fully synchronized, LED Christmas light and music show! After heading through the display head to Santa's Village where there is a ferris wheel, train rides, a petting zoo, bouncy houses and more.

Now - Jan. 8, 2017 (Sunday) - Dusk - 10:00 P.M. (sometimes later on weekends) - Simpsonville

St. Francis Festival of Trees

Several events will happen around the St. Francis Festival of Trees. Spectacular trees decorate the entrances to three hotels in Downtown Greenville, bringing the holiday season to life.
